Micro Showcase Tours:  We have tours every month or so. All the structures are open for viewing. See the tour dates and sign up at the link below.  Also, download & print the newly updated Micro Showcase Tour Guide before you come out.

After 6 years (April 2012 – April 2018) of hosting free Micro Showcase tours for tens of thousands of tiny house fans, we are taking a break from new tours for a while. In the interim, check out the excellent micro building exhibit at the Building Museum.

Micro Showcase Garden Use: The Garden area is available for free for community use during warmer months, and can accommodate up to 50 guests for outdoor events.

How to get here (21 Evarts St NE, DC 20002)

  • Metro: about a 20 minute walk from Brookland (red) metro station.
  • Bus: a 1-minute walk from the 80 bus’s North Capitol & Evarts Street stop and 3-minute walk from buses stopping at Michigan Avenue & North Capitol Street (D8, H1, H2, H3, H4).
  • Bicycle: there is ample room to store bicycles for those cycling over, and Capital Bikeshare stations are located at the Washington Hospital Center and Rhode Island & 1st NE, each about a ten-minute walk away.
  • Car: street parking is usually available in the area, but we prefer you take other means to save space for neighbors. You can Uber/Car2G0/Zipcar/taxi here.

A visit from the great folks at Greenbelt Homes (a townhouse coop near DC). They visited in May 2015 as part of their membership committee’s ‘Live Large/Think Small’ campaign, to help residents think about using their space more efficiently, rather than building new additions.
